The Bordeaux 60 in the China Sea
«Quickly after « popping the Champagne », the CNB team was preparing the boat for a 380 nm cruise to Hainan island, just across from the Vietnamese coasts, where the famous “Hainan Rendez Vous” luxury show is held. After avoiding collision with dozens of freighters and hundreds of fishing vessels, the crew met with a less than pleasant China Sea with a big, particularly uncomfortable swell. Conditions got worse and Airness quickly found herself sailing among five meter waves, with a 30 to 40 knot northerly. But the Bordeaux 60’s power handled that rather easily, with an average speed of 12 Knots and surfs up to 17 Knots on the second day of the crossing. To say that the cruise was a comfortable one would be exaggerated, but the whole crew really appreciated the boat’s hull shape and balance, as well as the design of her cockpit, both important safety factors with the Bordeaux 60.
Being the largest sailing yacht at the ”Hainan Rendez Vous”, the Bordeaux 60 drew a lot of interest from potential clients as well as from the media present in Hainan, which gave the shipyard an opportunity to do a long series of test sails and to give them a good idea of the world respected CNB “savoir faire”. Ashore, the CNB Superyachts stand was displaying several sailing and motor yachts models. Funnily enough, the staff there had to regularly explain that the Bordeaux 60 is the smallest sailing yacht built by CNB!

The CNB team flew to Hong Kong by the end of March to deliver the Bordeaux 60# 23, freshly unloaded from a cargo ship. Only six weeks after having the boat leave Bordeaux, sailing between skyscrapers and junks is a rather unique and intense moment: the smiles on Stephan’s and Kristen’s faces, the happy new owners of Airness, represent a true reward for all involved. Stephan, who has lived in Hong Kong for more than 20 years, declared: “I’m finally fulfilling my dream: being at last able to sail away from the city crowd on an exceptional yacht…”

2nd Bordeaux 60 Rendez-Vous in Puerto Portals (Mallorca)
Unfortunately, harsh weather conditions (respectively in Gibraltar and in Greece) made it impossible for Eolic 6 and Si Remote to join the fun.
British, German, Swiss, Spanish and French skippers and crew (with many children), enjoyed a “meet & greet” cocktail on the evening of the 9th.
Improvised "regattas", wonderful and friendly moorings and evenings, this 2nd Bordeaux 60 owner´s meeting was a real success!
8 boats and 8 crew with a mix of experienced racers and complete families made this 2nd Bordeaux 60 rendezvous exactly what it should be: an exceptional opportunity to meet, sail together in a beautiful bay while becoming friends…see you next year!

July 9, 10 & 11: 10 Bordeaux 60 owners had decided to meet again in Puerto Portals for their 2nd annual rendezvous organized by CNB, with the precious collaboration of Sunbird (the local representative), in partnership with Raymarine and Volvo Penta France.

Hayama Marina (Japan): a Shinto ceremony for Kagayaki III
So as to satisfy several requirements from her owner, several "custom" extras have been installed on board, among which a true jacuzzi in the forward bathroom!

June 1, 2010: The Bordeaux 60 Kagayaki III officially received her name during a traditional Shinto ceremony, in the presence of her owner, his family and numerous friends. Kagayaki III is hull#18 and also the first Bordeaux 60 delivered in Asia.

A fully successfull first Rendez Vous with happy owners and crew, beautiful sailing and great entertainment... All agreed to come back next year: same place, same date, same hour...

Seven Bordeaux 60s met in Puerto Portals, Mallorca from July 3 to 5 for their first owners meeting, organized by CNB and Sunbird, the Bordeaux 60 local representative, with the simple and pleasant goal of enjoying to sail together.

Each year, the European Yacht of the Year Award is extended in several categories, by a jury of about ten European journalists.
This year, the Bordeaux 60 has been selected in the Luxury cruiser category .
In November, the journalists will sail on board of the Bordeaux 60, so they will enjoy her sail features and qualities, her ergonomics, and her luxurious comfort.
The result of this award is scheduled in January 2009, at the Düsseldorf boat show!

This year, the Bordeaux 60 has been selected in the Luxury cruiser category .
In November, the journalists will sail on board of the Bordeaux 60, so they will enjoy her sail features and qualities, her ergonomics, and her luxurious comfort.
The result of this award is scheduled in January 2009, at the Düsseldorf boat show!
