BORDEAUX 60

COMFORTING OUTSIDE LINES…

'A flush foredeck, a very slender rigging, an almost vertical bow, moderate displacement and waterline beam, reduced appendage drags, are external signs of performance. With the Bordeaux 60, aesthetics show reality, for we have wanted her to be fast under all points of sailing, and to give her owners real sailing pleasure.'
After Philippe Briand.

Deck layout: elegance and comfort…

Easy manœuvring:
Comfort aboard a sailing yacht also means the ability to be easily sailed whether alone or by a couple. Her manoeuvring being extremely easy and reactive, the Bordeaux 60 is comforting because of her impressive stability at sea.
All the manœuvring is operated from the helm stations because the sheet and halyard winches are grouped in the aft part of the cockpit. In strong winds, the skipper can control his boat without moving thanks to the self tacking track forward. In light airs, fine tuning will be easy, without disturbing the guests comfortably seated round the cockpit table.

Deck and cockpit:
With her flush deck hatches (since 2010), the Bordeaux 60 catches the eye with her taut and elegant lines. Wide side decks (65 cm wide in the central point!) make walking between the huge foredeck and the cockpit extremely easy, for greater security at sea.
In the perfectly protected cockpit, 8 people can easily sit and be entertained round an elegant teak table fitted with a refrigerator: the very high coamings are shoulder high. Situated aft for more steering pleasure and safety, this convivial area is also very well protected by the rather high freeboards of the Bordeaux 60.
With her skirt used both as a garage door and swim platform, the aft part of the boat is a wonderful terrace onto the sea.
The garage, that is quite functional, can provide room to a 3.10m semi-rigid tender. For a bigger tender, such as a dinghy-jet for example, a custom-movable cradle can also be fitted on the fore deck.

Rigging, ballast: the choice is yours…

Rigging and sail plan:
When choosing one’s boat, one of the most important things to do is to acutely define one's sailing programme. As they are perfectly used to these questions, the CNB teams can give each owner advice in defining his boat’s rigging, to make one's Bordeaux 60 a coherent and well-adapted sailing boat. Among the many possible choices, the following types of rigging on the first Bordeaux 60 boats were selected:

Dans un second temps, la définition des voiles est un critère déterminant pour affiner le programme. Dans ce domaine encore, CNB est associé avec les meilleurs voiliers.
  • Lacquered aluminium mast and boom
  • Carbon V Boom
  • In-boom furling
  • Electric in-mast furling
  • Performance rigging with 1.50m longer carbon mast
  • Genoa with 108% overlap
  • Genoa on self tacking track
  • Staysail, either fixed or flying, with self tacking track
  • Conventional spinnaker, asymmetric spinnaker, gennaker, …
Then of course, the choice of the sails is a decisive factor in consideration of your programme. CNB also closely works in this domain with the best sail makers.

Ballast:
Four keel types are offered for the Bordeaux 60, so as to satisfy each owner’s priorities:
  • Cast iron 2.95m draft
  • Lead 2.95 m draft with a bulb
  • Lead 2.45m draft
  • Telescopic: especially designed for the Bordeaux 60, this keel allows to reduce the draft to 2.10m while maintaining the boat’s performance under sail (2.55m). As it is hydraulically assisted, it has the distinctive feature not to alter in the least the inside lay-out of the boat, as it retracts below the floorboards.
